Rules & Policies

Why These Rules Matter...

At Cornerstone Coves, our rules and responsibilities are here to create a safe,

respectful, and peaceful living environment for everyone.

These guidelines help set clear expectations, promote fairness, and support a clean and sober space

where all residents can focus on stability, growth, and well-being.

By following them, you're contributing to a home built on trust,

accountability, and mutual respect.

Thank you for doing your part.

Living Standards & Behavior

1. Respect and Safety:

  • No aggression, bullying, name-calling, threats, or physical horseplay is allowed toward residents, visitors, or management.

  • Show positive regard to others by avoiding behaviors that disturb

others (e.g., loud music, late-night conversations).

  • No nudity in common areas.

  • No sleeping is allowed in shared spaces or on couches.

  • No video games on shared televisions if other residents want to watch TV.​

2. Noise Control:

  • Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 9 AM.

  • Keep TV, music, and conversations low after 9 PM.

3. No Smoking/Vaping Indoors:

Smoking is only allowed in the backyard.

***If the household environment or individuals within the household become

negatively impacted by the odor of smoke, you may be asked to leave.

4. No Alcohol, Drugs, or Mood-Altering Substances:

  • Zero tolerance.

  • Possession or use results in immediate dismissal and 72 hours to vacate/remove personal belongings.

  • Drug/alcohol testing may occur randomly or on suspicion. Refusal = immediate dismissal.

5. Report Required:

  • You are required to report any drug use, alcohol use, or illegal activity by others. Failure to do so may result in dismissal.

6. Weapons:

  • Absolutely no weapons of any kind on the property, including by visitors.

7. No Pets Allowed

Visitor & Guest Policy

1. Visiting Hours:

All guests must be approved in advance and be 18+ years old.

Guests are allowed only between 9 AM and 9 PM.

No overnight guests.

Visitors are not allowed in residents' rooms.

2. Resident & Guest Behavior:

Guests must follow all house rules.

Residents are responsible for the conduct and safety of their guests.

Guests may only be in the house or backyard, not in the front yard.

3. Room & Sleeping Arrangements

Residents may be assigned top or bottom bunks and must be physically able to use stairs.

Bedrooms must be kept clean, neat, and organized at all times.

No sleeping is allowed in common areas.

Cleanliness, Chores & House Maintenance

1. Personal Responsibility:

Always clean up after yourself in all spaces—especially the kitchen,

bathrooms, and living areas.

Wash dishes immediately. If soaking, dishes must be done within 1 hour.

Personal items should be stored away when not in use.

Common areas must remain clutter-free.

2. Assigned Chores:

Each resident is assigned specific daily housekeeping, sanitation, or maintenance duties.

After completion, you must text the House Manager to confirm your task is done.

 

3. Cleaning Rules:

Wipe down surfaces after use.

Sweep/vacuum high-traffic areas regularly, including outdoors.

Take out trash and recycling before overflow; replace trash can liners.

Clean fridge spills and discard expired food promptly.

Clean the lint trap after using laundry machines.

Keep the laundry area clean and laundry should be completed by 9 PM.

4. Bathroom Etiquette:

Wipe down counters and sinks, flush toilets, hang towels.

Limit time in shared bathrooms during peak hours.

Be considerate of others, as these spaces are shared.

5. Kitchen & Food Rules

Kitchen Hours:

The kitchen closes at 9 PM.

No cooking is allowed between 9 PM and 6:30 AM.

The microwave may be used at any time.

6. Dishes:

Must be cleaned immediately after use.

 

7. Food Boundaries:

Only eat your own food.

Do not take food belonging to others.

8. Amenities

Internet/Wi-Fi may be provided but is not guaranteed.

Misuse of the internet may result in restriction or removal of access.

9. Safety, Security & Property

Cameras:

Do not tamper with, unplug, cover, or move security cameras.

10. Weapons:

Absolutely no weapons are allowed on the property, even if legally owned.

11. Personal Property:

Residents are solely responsible for their own personal belongings.

Management is not liable for theft, loss, or damage.

12. Theft:

Any theft will result in immediate expulsion without refund and may be

reported to authorities.

13. Parking:

Only one vehicle per resident allowed.

Must provide proof of license, insurance, and registration.

Do not block driveways or access points.

​​​​​Rent, Fees, & Payments​

1. Rent is due:

Monthly on the 1st, or

Weekly every Tuesday, depending on your agreement.

2. Late or Missing Payments:

May result in loss of housing or a lien on personal items.

3. Policy Violations & Dismissal

Breaking any rule may result in:

Counseling

Fines

Loss of deposit

Immediate dismissal from the property

4. Drug/Alcohol Use or Failed Test:

Will result in immediate dismissal with 72 hours to collect belongings.

 

5. Refusing a Drug Test:

Treated the same as a failed test—immediate dismissal.

 

6. Voluntary Move-Out:

Requires 30 days’ notice in writing.

7. This is NOT a Lease:

Your status is licensee, not tenant.

You may be asked to vacate at any time at the discretion of management.

8. Confidentiality:

House issues are not to be discussed outside the home,

except with your Case Manager or house management.

 

 

 

Final Acknowledgment

By joining the household, you agree to:

Follow all rules outlined here and in the full Licensee Agreement.

Acknowledge that this is a summary and that more detailed terms may apply.

Understand that violations can result in immediate dismissal without refund.

***Our goal isn’t to create a long list of rules—it’s to keep the home peaceful, clean, and respectful for everyone. We may add, update, or clarify house rules at any time as needs come up. We ask that residents cooperate with reasonable requests from management, since they’re made in the best interest of the household. Please treat the home and everyone in it with respect.
